Have you ever found yourself unprepared for supporting an induction?

Experienced doulas share their best tips for high-intervention birth support!

Though we wish every family could enjoy a straightforward and smooth arrival of their little one, that is not always the case. Oftentimes, doulas find themselves supporting clients requiring high interventions, but unprepared for the challenges. In this episode, fellow doula Lexi Zuo and I share our best tips for supporting inductions and other high-intervention birth scenarios.

Lexi Zuo is a Christian, Pastor’s Wife, Mama of 5, DONA-certified Birth Doula, Lamaze-certified Childbirth Educator, & Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) serving expectant parents throughout the Chicago suburbs. She got her start in birth work 12 years ago while running a non-profit in East Africa. The more she saw and studied, the more she fell in love with pregnancy and childbirth. After her time serving in East Africa, Lexi adopted her oldest daughter, married her husband, moved back to the US, and had four more babies with a variety of high-risk pregnancies and birth situations. I’ve also experienced two miscarriages, two years of secondary infertility, and a failed foster-care adoption. Lexi’s personal experiences bring a unique nuance and empathy to her work!
